The 2 Crew has had a busy 28 hours. Just before midnight Saturday night Tanker 2 was dispatched to the Weaber Sawmill fire. Minutes after that Rescue 2 was dispatched to an accident with roll over. Rescue 2 cleared that scene and was diverted to the saw mill fire along with Engine 2, Tanker 2-1, and Special unit 2. Units were on scene there about 8 hours. Crews then went from the saw mill to a barn fire on Horseshoe Pike along with our transfer companies. Engine 2, Rescue 2, Tanker 2, Tanker 2-1, and Special Unit 2 were on the scene there about 8 hours. Crews were cleaning up and restocking equipment when QRS 2 was dispatched to a medical assist. A little later Engine 2 and Rescue 2 were sent to Palmyra to assist at a structure fire. Crews returned and went home for much needed rest till 1:30 this morning when Rescue 2 was called for a fatal accident.
Many THANKS to the community for their acts of kindness. The farmer provided the apparatus with fuel and manpower with food. A resident brought McD's breakfast sandwiches. Country View provided food. Dominos in Northside Commons provided supper, 20 pizzas, brownies, and breadsticks. A second many THANKS to our transfer companies and mutual aid companies for their assistance with this very unusual day, without your help it would not have been possible. The Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company is very grateful to the community for their support. If anyone is interested in becoming part of the 2 Crew, stop by the station and we can answer any questions you may have, because really, if your neighbors house was on fire wouldn't you want to do more than watch?
